➔⛱️ Lesvos: Located in the northern Aegean, it is the island of the poetess Sappho, whose lyrics celebrated the female Eros. The island offers its tourists a wide range of services and entertainment, we recommend you start with the archaeological sites and the many churches that the island has.
The most special places to visit are the Petrified Forest and the 19th century Geni Mosque of Mytilini. You can spend your holidays at the springs of Eftalou or those of Loutpoleus, a place of rest since ancient times.
The beaches are not to be overlooked for their size and authenticity: you will find all kinds of sandy and pebble beaches, ideal for water sports thanks to the favourable winds.
We recommend a visit to Agia Varvara for surfing and Vatera, the largest beach and winner of the Blue Flag, for its crystal clear waters.
➔🏝️ Patmos: In the Dodeconeso archipelago is the small, wild island of the Apocalypse. It was here that part of the Bible was written, and it was here that the Apostle John was sent into exile during the Roman period and had his revelation.
Patmos is chosen by pilgrims from all over the world who visit the Cave of the Apocalypse every year and has been defined by the Greek state as a sacred island. The main centre of the island is Skala, where you will find all the commercial services.
It is also the island's port, where you will find the many fishing boats and a waterfront full of taverns and hotel facilities. You can also enjoy a relaxing and adventurous holiday among the stunning beaches that the island has to offer: Lambi and Petra can be reached by a short walk through the Mediterranean vegetation.
One of the most special beaches is Didimes, the twin beach, with an almost moon-like view and blue sea.
HERE IS A TIP: if you want the cheapest tickets on the market, ideally you should look for them months in advance so as not to fall into the trap of the high season when prices soar!
