Pantelleria, also known as the “Black Pearl” of the Mediterranean, is located in the Sicilian Canal and is much closer to the coasts of Africa than to those of Sicily.

๐ŸŒ‹ An island of volcanic origin, it offers picturesque views of its jagged coastline, which hides beautiful sea caves, a magnificent seabed with wonderful colors, all enriched by a clear, uncontaminated sea.

๐Ÿท There are typical gardens that perfectly blend with the many culinary and agricultural traditions, such as the production of Moscato and Passito di Pantelleria and the special cultivation of the Zibibbo vine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

If you are looking for a place that is a combination of unspoiled nature, breathtaking landscapes, unique sea and mountains, Pantelleria is the perfect destination for you.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ The island is called the Black Pearl because of the black lava soil that can be seen throughout the territory. The island is a perfect blend of Mediterranean culture and oriental influences, due to its geographical position between Sicily and the Tunisian coast.

The island's main town, with its Barbacane Fortress, the National Park and the Venus Lake, is well worth visiting, as is the Arch of the Elephant and the Balata dei Turchi beach.

Those who decide to go on a trip to Pantelleria will not find tourist villages or hotels, its peculiarity is precisely to be in close contact with nature, in fact you can choose to stay in structures called “Dammusi”.

The beauty of the seabed, the beaches of the island, the wide open spaces of the countryside, if you are a nature lover, Pantelleria will seem like an earthly paradise.

๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ The most popular activities for tourists are snorkeling and diving, but there are also perfect trails for trekking and guided excursions to explore the island. Boats are also available for excursions with local fishermen to see the island at its best.

๐Ÿ“– There are many archaeological sites on the island that testify to its millinery history, from the Phoenicians to the Normans. The archaeological park of Sesi, the village of Mursia and the bay of Scauri are some of the sites that show the settlement of different populations over the centuries.

Every year the tourist traffic on Pantelleria is increasing, so we advise you to book your tickets in advance to ensure availability.

๐Ÿ›ฅ๏ธ There are two shipping companies that operate connections to and from Pantelleria:

Siremar

• Liberty Lines

The port of Trapani is located at the very end of the western coast of Sicily. Its geographical position makes it the ideal place to reach Pantelleria by ferry.

The connection is guaranteed all year round with daily departures, while in summer the service is intensified with the introduction of fast hydrofoils on the route.

What to see in Pantelleria:

• Not to be missed is the Specchio di Venere, a lake rich in history, located in the centre of the island.

• The Castle of Pantelleria is a famous monument of the island. It overlooks the seafront and can be seen as soon as you arrive at the port of Pantelleria.

• The Arch of the Elephant is a famous seaside resort known for its typical lava rock in the shape of an elephant's trunk.

โ˜€๏ธ The best time to visit the island of Pantelleria is definitely in summer. You can visit all the beaches and coves of the island, famous for their crystal clear waters and the natural thermal baths that have formed over time.
