Ferries to Stromboli All the ferry companies on Mr Ferry!

Stromboli, is the northernmost island of the Aeolian Archipelago and is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the northern coast of Sicily. Its name means "round" in ancient Greek and in fact alludes to the shape of the island.

The island is divided into three main towns, Scari (San Vincenzo), the main town, Ficogrande and Piscità. It is also important to mention that there are two different ports on Stromboli: the main port is located in the northeast of the island, in the village of San Vincenzo, and Ginostra, a secondary port in the west. There are no practicable routes on the island that connect these two places.

The main feature of the island is the volcano of the same name, which is still active today and attracts visitors from all over the world every year; there are many movies and books inspired by this unique and fantastic scenery.

Stromboli is also the perfect destination for lovers of the sea and good food. In fact, besides tourism, the island lives mainly from agricultural production; vines, olives and common tree figs are just some of the delights of this land.

The shipping companies Liberty Lines, Snav, Alilauro and Siremar make the departures to Stromboli aboard comfortable ferries or fast and modern hydrofoils.
