Capri, just opposite the Sorrento peninsula, is a small island but is visited by millions of tourists every year. Considered the jewel of the Gulf of Naples for its natural beauty, it is also known as the island of romance for its picturesque views, sunsets over the sea and its evocative charm.

🏖️ If you want to have an unforgettable experience, a dream holiday where you can visit the sandy beaches, the coves, the stacks and the breathtaking landscapes, then Capri is the ideal destination!

The island of Capri enjoys international fame thanks to its stunning landscapes, exclusive atmosphere and spectacular sea. A vacation on Capri is a symbol of exclusivity, beauty and elegance.

Capri is strategically located, it is easy to reach from the entire Gulf of Naples, Sorrento, and the Amalfi Coast, thanks to the numerous maritime connections provided by the major shipping companies.

ATTENTION: Capri is closed to vehicles from April to October; only those who hold a special permit issued by the competent authorities are allowed to bring their vehicles to the island.

Its size of only 10 square kilometers and its proximity to the Campania coast mean that the ideal and only way to reach it is by boat: hydrofoils and ferries to Capri.

The numerous ferry connections make it easy to reach the island from the many ports of the Gulf of Naples and the Amalfi Coast, as well as from the island of Ischia.

Capri's main port is called Marina Grande, a marina that welcomes millions of tourists every year who decide to visit this beautiful island. The Marina Grande serves the entire Gulf of Naples and beyond, including Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano.

The port of Capri is connected to destinations such as Castellammare di Stabia, the beautiful island of Ischia, Procida, Torre del Greco, Salerno, Portici, Minori and Maiori. It is connected to the Gulf of Naples, the Amalfi Coast and the nearby islands.

ATTENTION: The port of Naples has two embarkation points: Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa.

For crossings to and from the port of Capri, shipping companies use hydrofoils in addition to conventional ferries, and it is not possible to board a vehicle on hydrofoils. The duration of the crossing may vary depending on the type of means of transport used, which may be a conventional ferry or a hydrofoil.

☀️ The best time to visit the island of Capri is definitely spring, when the island is not overcrowded with tourists, the temperatures are pleasant and you can enjoy a wonderful holiday. The peak months are absolutely July and August, so if you are planning a holiday during these months, be prepared for a greater influx of tourists.

If you decide to spend your holidays on the beautiful island of Capri, you must try the traditional cuisine based on fresh products typical of the Mediterranean. You must try the Ravioli Capresi, the Scialatielli alla Nerano or the famous Caprese salad.

Ferries to Capri Connections and travel options

Most departures to Capri take place during the day with hydrofoils. The frequency of departures increases considerably during summer, with departures from early morning until late evening, as more and more tourists decide to visit the island.

The journey time varies according to the line chosen, and the hydrofoil used by the company: it is possible to reach the island of Capri in just 20 minutes, or in 1 hour and 30 minutes if you choose a journey with several stopovers.

🚢 What services will you find on board?

Hydrofoils to Capri are faster and smaller than the traditional ferry, and the comfortable seats and air conditioning make the crossing pleasant. However, there are very few connections by ferry. Capri is subject to strict traffic regulations, so vehicle access is extremely limited.

As they are hydrofoils, the only accommodation on board is deck passage or seats

Passengers on board the hydrofoils to Capri will find a number of services available to make the crossing, although short, pleasant and relaxing.

During the trip, passengers will be able to use all the common areas and internal services, such as the cafeteria-bar, luggage storage, outdoor decks with views of the Gulf of Naples, and always-available toilets. On the main deck, passengers will find areas reserved for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

Hydrofoils do not have garages on board, so it will not be possible to transport vehicles, but this will not be a problem as the island of Capri has a good public transport system; every part of the island is well-connected by bus or private services.

🐶 Pets:

Want to travel with your pet? No problem at all! All ferry companies that operate services to and from Capri allow pets on board. They must be kept on a leash and muzzled if required by the company, and can travel with their owners in the special areas which will be indicated by the ship's staff.

Pets must be provided with a leash, muzzle, carrier in the case of small animals, and health and vaccination records for proper boarding.

In any case, all ships, whether hydrofoil or conventional ferry, have bar facilities, chairs and seats, viewing terraces, kennels for your pets and walking areas.

📷 What to see on Capri:

Once you have landed on the stunning azure blue island of Capri, you must visit it and discover the wonders it has to offer.

The Faraglioni of Capri, famous throughout the world, are now the symbol of the island. Immersed in the crystal-clear water that surrounds the entire area, they reach a height of up to 100 meters. Each Faraglione has its own name, and you can visit them with organized tours and guides who will tell you the history of the place.

Another attraction, now famous throughout the world, is the Blue Grotto of Capri, which owes its name to the color of the water inside; it looks as if it is being illuminated from within, but it is a breathtaking play of light and color. You can visit it thanks to guided excursions with small boats that can be booked on the spot.

If you are a shopping addict, a stroll down Caramelle Street is a must, with everything from luxury brands to souvenir shops.

Another stop you can't miss is the Natural Arch, a rock formation that can be visited from the Belvedere di Tragara, overlooking the Faraglioni. From the Natural Arch you can see the Faraglioni in all their beauty and the bay of Marina Piccola.

Capri's attractions are not finished, there are many more you can discover by purchasing a ferry ticket to Capri on Mr Ferry! Booking is quick and easy. If you need any help, check our FAQ or contact our customer service.
