The island of Procida, the smallest of the islands of the Campanian archipelago and a popular tourist destination, lies in the Gulf of Naples between the island of Ischia and the coast.
🏖️ Procida, offers a variety of beaches, from fine to grainy sand, easily accessible on foot, all washed by a crystal clear sea. The village, which dates back to the Saracen invasions, is characterized by the many colorful fishermen's houses overlooking the sea, and offers suggestive walks, especially at sunset.
🏆 The island has been nominated as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2022, the first island to win the title. It is the perfect mix of sea and culture.
The island is famous for its brightly colored houses. It is an explosion of colors that starts from the harbor of Marina Grande. Procida is an international tourist island and is home to millions of visitors every year. As soon as you arrive on the island, you will see the pastel colored houses on the Baia della Chiaia. It is a unique setting that takes you back to the time when the island was inhabited by fishermen.
You can visit Procida on foot in a single day; the island is almost entirely pedestrianized.
Ferries and hydrofoils to and from Procida depart daily from the ports of Naples and Pozzuoli. There is also a connection to the island of Ischia, which is very popular with day trippers.
There are four ferry companies offering connections to and from Procida:
• Caremar
• Medmar
• Snav
The connections offered by these companies are numerous, both with the mainland and with the other islands of the Gulf: Naples, Sorrento, Pozzuoli, Ischia and Ischia Casamicciola.
Some routes also make stopovers, for example at the port of Capri, especially the Sorrento Procida route.
Thanks to the shipping companies, there are daily connections between the islands of the Gulf of Naples and the coast all year round.
☀️ The best time to visit Procida is definitely in summer, when the setting sun illuminates all the houses in the harbor, creating a game of colors that will leave you breathless. The busiest months are July and August; we recommend visiting in June or September if you want some peace and quiet.
