One of the most popular routes that will take you to Procida is the Ischia Procida route.
🛥️The route is operated by three shipping companies:
• Caremar: 6 crossings a day, each lasting 25 minutes.
• Medmar: 13 crossings a week, each lasting 20 minutes.
• Alilauro Gruson: 6 crossings a week, each lasting 15 minutes.
The route operates all year round and during the high season there are around 15 crossings a day. However, not all companies guarantee a year-round service, some only during the summer months.
🚗 The route is served by hydrofoils and not by conventional ferries, as these do not have a garage on board to transport passengers' vehicles, so it is not possible to make the crossing with a vehicle in tow.
From April to October, vehicles are generally prohibited on the island of Procida, except for permanent residents.
🐕 If you want to travel with your pet, you have come to the right place! The companies operating the Ischia Procida route allow pets on board hydrofoils. Pets are not allowed in the areas of the hydrofoil where the onboard bar/cafeteria is located, but they can stay with their owners in special areas.
👜 The companies Caremar, Medmar and Alilauro Gruson allow passengers travelling on the Ischia Procida route to carry one piece of hand luggage per person, up to a maximum weight of 10 kg.
On these hydrofoils, assistance is also available for passengers with reduced mobility, if required, but please remember to request this service in advance for organizational reasons.

🍸 Although the route is very short and hydrofoils are used, there are a number of services available to make the crossing pleasant and relaxing.
There are air-conditioned lounges with armchairs, toilets that are always available, a storage room for passengers' luggage and a bar/snack cafeteria. You can stop wherever you like, even outside, if the boat you are on allows it.
As these are hydrofoils and not conventional ferries, the only option for accommodation on board is a simple deck passage. This allows passengers to sit on the seats in the lounges or outside if the vessel allows it.
🐕 To ensure that your pet is properly embarked, remember that you must have everything required by the shipping companies. It must be correctly registered on the booking, have a leash and muzzle if necessary, travel in a carrier if it is small, and have vaccination records.
