Ferries to VentspilsPort connections and services

Want to explore Latvia, the most creative of the Baltic countries? Take a ferry to Ventspils!

Ventspils is a city in western  Latvia, located on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the Venta River, from which it takes its name, and about 160 km from the capital Riga. Ventspils, due to its geographical location, has an important commercial port, ice-free all year round, allowing connections even in the winter months.

In the 1990s, the port of Ventspils started to serve passenger and vehicle routes with Sweden, and today, ferries from Ventspils connect Latvia to the port of Nynäshamn on the Swedish central coast in Stockholm County.

Crossings are made throughout the year by the Stena Line ferry company, which serves the route up to twice a day, both during the day and at night, taking between 9 and 10 hours.

The Ventspils ferry terminal is located close to the city centre, where travellers can find all essential services such as bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, petrol stations, banks, as well as hotels and tourist apartments.
