The port of Split is located just minutes from the center of the Croatian town overlooking the Adriatic Sea. The port has important economic significance for the Republic of Croatia.

The city is full of monuments to visit, such as the famous fortified Diocletian Palace. Split's port of call welcomes hydrofoils, local and international ferries, ensuring commercial and tourist traffic.

More than 4 million passengers use the functionality of ferries to Split, and 800,000 vehicles accompany them on average each year. Catamarans and ferries from Split provide routes to the Dalmatian islands and the port of Ancona. They are operated by the shipping companies Snav and Jadrolinija. Approximately 8 weekly runs are made with a total duration between 9 hours and 11 hours and 30 minutes. The connection is guaranteed all year round. 

The main street in the port is called Obala Kneza Domagoja and is only 5 minutes from the city center. All along the street you will find all the ferry docks to and from Split. Nearby you will also find the train station.

The port is in proximity to the city center of Split; you can even reach it on foot. You will also find bus or cab services to get to the center. Near the port you will also find the Split-Castelli Airport, 25 km away, you can choose to reach it by car, cab, or bus.

The train station and bus terminal are located near the port, just a few meters from the ferry embarkations, and offer a very functional service for connecting with the city and its suburbs. Near the bus station, ferry passengers can enjoy pleasant entertainment areas such as internet point cafés, restaurants and pizzerias, benefit from the ATM service and parking lots to park their cars.

Split is rich in places of interest, most are concentrated in the downtown area of the city. One of the most important and famous monuments is Diocletian's Palace, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.

 Another of these must-see attractions is the Cathedral of St. Domnius, which houses the mausoleum of the great Roman emperor. From its bell tower there is a breathtaking view of the city.
Not to be missed is the peristyle, the temple of Jupiter. Along the palace walls are four fortified gates. Each is named after a metal. Today all the buildings inside have become stores, bars, and restaurants.

Then head to the heart of the old town and relax in one of the bars in Popolo's Square. A walk along the waterfront, called La Riva, is the perfect place to enjoy typical Dalmatian dishes and watch the sunset.

Afterward, take a stroll through the Veli Varos neighborhood. Its medieval houses, picturesque streets and stairways make it a great place to relax.

If you want to learn a bit about Split's great history, a visit to the Archaeological Museum is a must, as it is the largest museum in Croatia.

For hiking and biking, the Marjan Hill Nature Park awaits you. Its viewpoint offers a breathtaking panorama.

Also worth mentioning are Split's sand and pebble beaches, which have been awarded the Blue Flag several times. Some of the most famous are Bacvice Beach, Trstenik Beach or Kasjuni Beach.

By car, it is possible to get to the Split ferry embarkations by reaching the city and following the D8 road, proceed in the direction of Pojicka and Zvonimira following the signs to the ferry terminal. Kastela Airport is connected by a shuttle service and is about 24 km from the port of Split. The bus terminal and main train station are located near the ferry embarkations.
