Ferries to PanareaPort connections and services

Panarea is the smallest of the Aeolian Islands, but perhaps the most popular. The only port is located on the east coast of the island, near the village of Ditella.

⚓ Every year, the port of Panarea sees thousands of passengers disembark from all over Italy and the rest of Europe. The port area is very close to the city centre and offers numerous services such as restaurants, cafés, shops, groceries and pharmacies. Boat and dinghy rentals can be found in the vicinity of the embarkations.

🚢 Panarea is connected to the mainland all year round with departures to Naples. Departures to Sicily, on the other hand, connect the island with the port of Milazzo. In the summer months, lines to and from Naples Mergellina, Vibo Valentia and Palermo are added. There are four ferry companies that operate connections with Panarea:

Snav

Siremar

Liberty Lines

Alilauro

You can reach Panarea by ferry or hydrofoil. If you travel by hydrofoil, you may bring one 10 kg hand luggage, which is already included in the ticket price. Any extra luggage can be added for a small surcharge. Ferries are more comfortable and spacious, but departures are less frequent and the vehicles slower, so the crossing will take longer.

Motor vehicles are not allowed to circulate on the island of Panarea and a ban on disembarking applies to motor vehicles and mopeds during the summer months. However, there are several public and private transport services that will allow you to explore the entire island.

Bicycles can only be boarded on ferries, as hydrofoils do not have a hold. Only folding bikes are allowed on hydrofoils, they must be included in the booking.🚲

☀️ What are you waiting for? The wonderful Panarea is waiting for you! Book your crossing now on MrFerry and receive your boarding pass on your email address or on Whatsapp!📧

Panarea ferries About Panarea

On the island of Panarea, there are no roads that allow the circulation of motor vehicles and the disembarkation of cars is prohibited during the summer months. There is only a small car park near the harbour, but we advise you to consult the restrictions on disembarking vehicles when planning your holiday in Panarea.

To welcome tourists at the harbour there are electric taxis or apecars that provide quick access to hotels and beaches. On the seafront, near the pier where hydrofoils and ferries dock, passengers can find many services such as bazaars, news stands, markets, bars, and tobacco shops.

Panarea is a popular seaside destination and is divided into three municipalities: San Pietro, the centre of nightlife, Drautto with its picturesque bay, and Ditella, known for its thermal springs.

Discover Panarea's famous underwater fumaroles at the Bottaro rock, off the east coast of the island, and along Calcara beach! The beach of Cala degli Zimmari, located about 20 minutes' walk from the harbour, is easily accessible from the path leading to Drautto. Framed by cliffs and lush vegetation, the beach stretches along a bay of crystal-clear sea and red sand. Continuing along the same path, visitors can reach the prehistoric village of Punta Milazzese and the beach of Cala Junco, similar to a natural swimming pool with transparent waters and enclosed by high rock walls. After a day at the beach, set out to discover Panarea's fun nightlife! In addition to the numerous discos overlooking the sea, numerous night parties are also organised on sailing boats, for a unique and thrilling experience!
