On the island of Losinj, tourism has developed fairly quickly; in fact, of the two islands in the Kvarner Gulf, it is the most populated and full of tourist. There are plenty of bays and coves and a sea where you can even find dolphins.
One of the most important places of historical and religious interest is the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, inside you can find major works of art. Another place of historical and artistic interest is the Museum of Lošinj, with works of art ranging from the seventeenth century to the present day.
If you are looking for a relaxing, nature-focused vacation, Lošinj is the place to be. It boasts a lush natural environment with exotic plants and medicinal herbs that have led to the development of aromatherapy-related events and activities.
Take time to visit the two main towns: Mali Lošinj and Veli Lošinj.
The former on a waterfront promenade will have you admiring the imposing houses of wealthy 19th-century captains and luxurious villas of wealthy Viennese and Hungarians, a testament to the prosperity of times past.
Veli Losinj is charming and less crowded with tourists. You will be charmed by its pastel-colored houses, cafés and small restaurants gathered around the harbor.
Like all of Croatia, the island of Losinj has plenty of lovely beaches: the Veli žal beach, Čikat Bay, and Borik beach, ideal for families with children.
