⛪ Founded in the 18th century, the town centre is a must-see with its narrow cobbled streets and numerous historical monuments, such as the large Place Paoli, where the bust of the famous Pascal Paoli is located, and the Church of the Immaculate Conception. The town also has a covered market where you can find all the typical products of Corsica.
The Lungomare Marinella promenade runs around the entire town and allows you to admire the most beautiful beaches on the Ile Rousse. Don't miss the statue of the Bronze Mermaid, who looks out over the horizon and shows the way to the fishermen.
The symbol of the city, however, is Stone Island, from which the city takes its name. It is easily accessible from the city centre. Around the island you can see the stone islets that surround it: Roccio, Roccetto and Piano.
🏖️ The city also has some beautiful beaches, one of them being the Spiaggia d'Isola Rossa, characterized by fine white sand, you will find it close to the city centre. Another beach worth a visit is Bodri Beach, a beach of crystal clear water and white sand.
