Also from the 16th century are the Torre del Gerro, located just outside the city, and the emblematic Castle of Denia, which dominates the city and offers a magnificent view of the sea. The castle houses the archaeological museum, which traces the history of the city through the Iberian, Roman, Moorish and Christian eras.
