The port of Bonifacio is located within a narrow and deep inlet under the town, built on a promontory famous for its white cliffs. The port area is located at the end of the fjord, where the piers dedicated to the ferry dock are managed.

Bonifacio is located in the extreme south of Corsica and is the second-largest city in the south after Porto Vecchio.
It is here that the Strait of Bonifacio separates Corsica from Sardinia, 11 km from the sea.

The port area is located at the end of the fjord, where there are piers for ferries. The port of Bonifacio is modern and designed to meet all the needs of the tourist industry. In addition to ferry embarkation, the Port of Bonifacio has a fully equipped area for the mooring of private boats, large yachts and beautiful sailing ships.

🛥️ The active ferry connection to Bonifacio is from the port of Santa Teresa di Gallura. Ferry departures from Bonifacio are operated all year round by Moby Lines and increased in the high season by Ichnusa Lines.

The port of Bonifacio has an equipped area dedicated to the docking of private boats, large yachts and ships. 

A few metres from the pier is the waterfront of the Bonifacio tourist area, which offers a wide range of services such as typical restaurants, cafés, ice-cream parlours and sandwich shops with Wi-Fi. Passengers will also find supermarkets, pharmacies, and shops of all kinds.

There are 2 car parks, both paid and free, not far from the ferry terminal, and there are further car parks up the road towards the town centre. 

Bonifacio ferries About Bonifacio

Bonifacio enjoys a spectacular natural environment, the upper town rises on limestone cliffs carved by the sea, hence the nickname “City of Cliffs “.

The first stop once you disembark in Bonifacio can only be the Citadel or “upper town”, it sits on a 70-meter-high cliff overlooking the sea. Here you will find the beating heart of the city, its historic centre, which will introduce you to many cultural and historical attractions.

One example is the Gate of Genoa, the main entrance to the Citadel, one of the highest points in the city. Below, you will find yourself in front of the Bastion of the Standard, where you will find exhibits dedicated to the history of Bonifacio.

King Aragon's Staircase is a must-see in Bonifacio: as you climb the 187 steps carved into the cliff, you can see Sardinia in the distance.

🛥️ One of the best ways to discover Bonifacio is by boat! You will discover caves and bays. Bonifacio's natural heritage offers its visitors magnificent places and real wonders, such as the sea caves, the Lavezzi Islands and their nature reserve, the Sdragonato cave or, for example, the Fazzio Bay.

🏖️ Bonifacio's most beautiful beaches are definitely the Piantarella Beach, the Small Spur Beach, the Great Spur Beach or the Maora Beach, characterized by ochre-colored sand.

The port area can be reached by car via the N196 and N198 roads, which link Bonifacio to the rest of Corsica. The nearest airport is Figari-Sud, about 20 km from the port. A 24-hour taxi service is available.
