The 76-nautical-mile Pantelleria Trapani line operates year-round with crossings always during the day, also available in low season at least 6 times a week.

In the summer months from June to September, hydrofoils are also operational and the number of connections increases considerably, so that about 13 departures per week are scheduled. Service on the route is operated by the Liberty Lines and Siremar shipping companies.

The ferries travel the route in 5 hours and 45 minutes, while the hydrofoil, which only provides passenger service, takes 2 hours and 10 minutes to reach the port of destination.

On the Siremar ferries operating the Pantelleria Trapani route, it is possible to board motor vehicles; passengers can choose to travel with the vehicle they prefer, such as a car or motorcycle. On Liberty Lines hydrofoils it is not possible to embark a vehicle as they are used for passengers transport only.
