🏝️Discover the traditions of these 2 villages:
➔In the northwestern part of the island of Samos you will find the characteristic village of Samos Karlovassi, nestled among the rich rolling hills and very close to the Turkish coast.
The village is divided into three areas:
The old part, the central part and the new town.
The village has a very old history which saw it inhabited by Ottoman families in the 1500s. A temple was built here in honour of the god Dionysus.
Karlovassi offers many activities. We recommend a visit to the church of Agia Triada, located on the top of a hill from where you can admire the beautiful gulf.
Another place of interest is the Byzantine castle or the Potami waterfalls, which can be reached via a path surrounded by wilderness.
One of the most visited beaches in Karlovassi is Potami beach, which consists of small pebbles and crystal clear sea.
➔ Samos Vathy, located in the north-eastern part of the island, is the capital where you can enjoy your holiday to the full!
The harbour promenade offers shops and restaurants where you can spend your days relaxing or enjoying a delicious aperitif in the tavernas.
The district of Ano Vathi is the oldest, built on a hillside. The village consists of charming, colourful houses, perfectly placed in the Anatolian style.
If you are interested in archaeology, we recommend a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Vathi, where you will find works of great importance such as the Young Man of Kouros. One of the most beautiful beaches on the island is Livadaki Beach in Vathi. When you arrive, you will feel like you are in an exotic place, its fine sand and transparent sea create the perfect atmosphere!
