• We recommend you to start your visit from the peninsula, especially if you travel in the summer: opposite KlaipÄda is the village and beach resort of SmiltynÄ. The beach is characterized by sand dunes and is surrounded by woods where you can shelter from the sun and the wind. If you prefer to dedicate yourself to sports, you will find several paths to explore on foot or by bike, or you can tour the lagoon by kayak or sailboat. Spend an afternoon at the dolphinarium, especially if you're traveling with children. Besides dolphins, you will see sharks, penguins, corals and tropical fish.
• Explore the port city starting from its medieval heart. Set off at the Theatre Square and follow the cobbled streets between half-timbered houses and small city parks. A curious way to learn about KlaipÄda's history is through its talking statues: many city statues have a QR code; if you scan it with your phone, the statue will tell you its story.
• Continue towards the DanÄs River, follow its course until you reach the Meridianas restaurant: it is a sailing ship which, until 1971, was used as a training ship. It was later restored and today houses an excellent fish restaurant. Finally head to the sculpture park, which contains 116 artistic creations permanently installed in the green corner of the city.
• Take your own vehicle and discover other Lithuanian cities! Kaunas is a medieval jewel, a visit to its castle is a must. The capital Vilnius offers all the comforts of a modern metropolis: shops, restaurants and bars, all enclosed within the typical medieval walls and narrow streets. If you want to discover the country's amazing untouched nature, take a trip to Žemaitija National Park – beautiful lake islands, rolling hills and lush forests await you.
