Do you want to visit Normandy and the beautiful Northern France? Take a ferry to Le Havre and start discovering the region!
Le Havre stands out from the rest of Normandy: it has been completely destroyed during the second World War, and rebuilt from scratch. Its architecture is mostly contemporary, with concrete buildings and futuristic shapes. Although maybe it is not renown as a tourist destination, there are plenty of things to see in Le Havre. You can explore modernist architecture in the Perret neighbourhood and by visiting St Joseph's Church, with its octagonal tower and stained-glass windows, best to be admired during the sunset. Art lovers must see the modern statue A l’origine, by Fabien Merelle, representing a man that carries an elephant on its back, and the MuMa museum, the biggest collection of impressionist paintings after the Musée d’Orsay.
After visiting the port city, take you car and tour the rest of the area. With 1 hour drive you are in Rouen, majestic gothic city and prefecture of Normandy. 2.30 hours from Le Havre, you will reach the wonderful Paris.
