🌋 Stromboli is the easternmost of the Aeolian islands, and also the most unusual. It is an active volcano with frequent eruptions. From the conical shape of the island to its black beaches, composed of remnants of previous eruptions, the constant geological activity has created an evocative and primordial landscape. The remnants of another volcano, now extinct, have created the Strombolicchio rock, which rises from the crystal clear sea. The seabed around the rock is colourful and full of rare fish. You can easily reach Milazzo from Stromboli, there are two options:

- The Siremar ferries take 6 hours and 30 minutes to reach Milazzo. They operate all year round with departures up to 4 times a week.

- If you prefer to travel faster, you can choose the Liberty Lines hydrofoils. The crossing takes 2 hours and 10 minutes and in high season you can choose from 7 daily departures. Hydrofoils run all year round, but in low season departures are less frequent.

⚓Once you arrive in Milazzo you will find yourself in a picturesque seaside town to explore! The most striking part is certainly the Castle, the defensive complex at the heart of the town that encompasses centuries of history: from the Neolithic to the Renaissance, every population that has inhabited Milazzo has left a trace here. At the base of the citadel is the legendary cave of Polyphemus where, according to the Odyssey, Ulysses was imprisoned.

☀️ Milazzo is surrounded by marvellous landscapes. Reach the tip of Cape Milazzo, where you will find the so-called 'Pool of Venus', a small natural lagoon where the sea is particularly transparent. You can reach it on foot and, after an invigorating walk, stop to admire the splendid sunsets that characterise this area.

Ferries Stromboli Milazzo On board services

To cross the Stromboli Milazzo route you can choose to travel by ferry or hydrofoil.

Hydrofoils are faster, you will have more departures to choose from and you will have to check in 15 minutes before departure. You will be able to take one 10 kg hand luggage on board, which is already included in the cost of your ticket. Additional luggage can be purchased when booking or at the port ticket office.🧳

Ferries are more spacious and cheaper, and check-in is 30 minutes before departure. On board you will find bars and restaurants, swimming pools and shops, all the services that will make your journey pleasant and enjoyable. They are ideal for those who love comfort or who get seasick, as the ferry is more stable than the hydrofoil.

If you are travelling with young children, when you book you must enter their actual age at the time of departure, and the system will show you the correct fare. Once they reach the age of 12, reductions are no longer valid and the adult fare is applied.

Pets are welcome on board! Dogs must be kept on a leash and muzzled, other small animals must be placed in pet carriers by the traveller.🐾
