👉The Fourni Islands are a group of islands located in the Aegean Sea of Greece. It is the perfect place to visit if you are looking for some peace and quiet and relaxation. This is a place that is far away from the mass tourism and the hustle and bustle.
The island has a long history of fishery and still today the port is full of fishing boats supplying the market in Athens. There is invaluable biodiversity in the sea, which is considered the most heavily fished area in the Aegean. Days can be spent on the beautiful beaches of Kampi, the most popular or Kasidi, the most rugged and exotic, its golden sand and turquoise waters.
👉A colourful island, turquoise sea and lush vegetation, this is what Symi has to offer for your holiday! You will find it in the Dodecanese archipelago, very close to the Turkish coast.
Symi is also the capital of the island and you will find it divided into two parts:
Ano Symi, where you can admire the castle of the Knights of St John, and Kato Poli, where you can take a beautiful walk along the nature trail.
The island has beautiful beaches and several small islets close to the coast that are easily accessible by private boat. There is much to see and do on Symi and it is a concentration of ecclesiastical culture. We recommend a visit to the majestic Monastery of the Archangel Michael, built on the site of the Temple of Apollo.
HERE IS A TIP: if you want the cheapest tickets on the market, ideally you should look for them months in advance so as not to fall into the trap of the high season when prices soar!
