Civitavecchia-Porto Vecchio

To reach Corsica from Italy and vice versa, it is very easy and fast with your booking online system on MrFerry, for a low-cost crossing with departures from/to Civitavecchia-Porto Vecchio.

Civitavecchia is an important harbour located in Lazio. The great architecture of Renaissance is still visible here in massive buildings and fortresses such as the Forte Michelangelo, which  Michelangelo gifted with the design of the tower’s upper part. The cathedral of San Francesco d'Assisi is another highlight to visit among the old chirches here, as well as the imponent Rocca. The Rocca was rebuilt in the late 15th century and still stands, in spite of the passing centuries.

Set on a hill looking down at a beautiful blue bay, Porto-Vecchio is 25km north of Bonifacio, was founded in 1539 by the Genoese on the east coast. Homely beaches and lovely stroll to do in  the centre of town, overlooking the fortress and the small network of streets which reconnect to the place de la République. The modern marina with many cafés and restaurants is the pulsing heart of the town nowadays.
