The shipping company Siremar or "Sicilia Regionale Marittima" was founded in 1975 and started a public transport service connecting Sicily and its smaller islands.
In the following years, Siremar faces two important changes in the company: First, it was sold to the Region of Sicily, and in 2016 it was acquired by the company Caronte & Tourist.
The Siremar connections are carried out by a fleet of 11 ferries that offer a regular daily service from the main ports of Sicily, carrying both passengers and vehicles and ensuring an excellent quality standard.
All Siremar ferries are equipped with the most modern safety systems and all the necessary amenities to guarantee their guests a comfortable and pleasant journey.
Siremar Fleet and on board services
The Siremar sailings are based on a dense network of connections to and between the smaller islands of Sicily, such as the Aeolian Islands (Lipari, Salina, Vulcano, Panarea, Stromboli, Alicudi and Filicudi), the Egadi Islands (Favignana, Marettimo and Levanzo), the Pelagie Islands (Linosa and Lampedusa), Pantelleria and Ustica.
During the Siremar crossings, the crew on board is always attentive to all the needs of the customers; on all routes many services are available such as bar and restaurant, comfortable chairs and air conditioning. In addition, there are comfortable cabins both inside and outside, where passengers with reduced mobility can enter and rest comfortably.
All pets are welcome on Siremar ships, their owners must stay in the specially reserved areas during the trip. Small animals can travel in their cages, but dogs must be on a leash and wear a muzzle.
Special Siremar offers are available when booking groups and educational trips; it is possible to benefit from discounted rates by reserving deck spaces, cabins and garage spaces in advance.
