Scandlines All departures and offers on MrFerry!
The Hamburg-based shipping company Scandlines was founded in 1998 as a result of the merger of the Danish shipping company Scandlines Danmark A/S and the German shipping company DFO.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, the two companies had operated the Baltic Sea routes between Germany and Denmark individually and, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, began working together to provide passengers with a more efficient ferry service.
In 2007, Scandlines became a private company and started investing in its own ships, converting its ferries to hybrid propulsion, which is more environmentally friendly than traditional ferries.
Today, Scandlines has the largest fleet of six hybrid ferries operating regular passenger services between Germany and Denmark. The company is also active in the freight market with an additional ferry. The company carries more than 7 million passengers and 2 million vehicles.
