Naviera Nabia Cíes, Ons and San Simón Islands

Naviera Nabia is a Spanish shipping company, active since 1998 in passenger transport to the Atlantic Islands of Galicia from the coast of the Rías Baixas.

The company is part of Grupo Acuña, owned by the family of the same name, originally from Ons Island. In addition to maritime service, the group is also responsible for welcoming visitors to the island, with camping, hotels, and restaurants.

The Naviera Nabia shipping company handles ferry connections in the Atlantic Islands National Park and is as committed to offering quality service to its passengers as it is to maintaining an environmentally friendly policy and work ethic, with the aim of promoting and protecting this enchanting and precious place.

All Naviera Nabia connections:

  • Cíes Islands can be reached from the ports of Vigo and Cangas throughout the year. During the low season, departures are made only on weekends; during the summer, more daily ferries are guaranteed and departures are added from the ports of Moaña , Baiona and Portonovo.

  • Ons Island can be reached between April and October with departures from Bueu. Service is enhanced in summer, with additional departures from Portonovo, Vigo and Baiona.

  • San Simón Island can be visited from May to September with three departures per week from Cangas and Vigo.

The crossing duration is generally between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on the route selected. Some routes have stopovers at intermediate ports lasting a maximum of 15 minutes and without a ferry change.

Naviera Nabia Fleet and on board services

Naviera Nabia's fleet consists of four ferries, three of which are hydrofoils, allowing passengers to be transported quickly and in comfort.

On board Naviera Nabia ferries there are essential amenities, such as bathrooms and seating both indoors and on the outside deck. You will also find a small bar on board, where you can have a coffee or snack while waiting for your landing on the islands

Service may not be available on the route to San Simón.

Naviera Nabia imposes no luggage limits - you can take on board as much as you can carry on your own.

💡 What to know before booking

It is important to know that there are some limitations imposed by the local government for access to the Atlantic Islands National Park, which you should know before booking your Naviera Nabia ticket:

  • No vehicles are allowed, not even bicycles or similar.

  • Pets are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs. The law regulates the introduction of animal and plant species to preserve the delicate local ecosystem.

  • A round-trip ticket must be purchased. It is not possible to book a single leg.

During the high season, the Cíes Islands and Ons Island are only accessible with the permission of the Xunta de Galicia. In the case of a day trip (without overnight stay), MrFerry will make the request for you and email you the authorization QR code, along with your booking confirmation number.

If you have booked one or more nights in a campsite or hotel, you will need to notify us of the pre-authorization code by email or phone. Without this code, you will not be able to purchase a round-trip ticket on different days.

🕙 Do I have to check in?

Yes, Naviera Nabia requires mandatory check-in for all departures to the Atlantic Islands, which can be done up to 15 minutes before departure.

You will need to bring with you the IDs of all passengers (including minors), the reservation number that MrFerry will send you to confirm the request, and, where applicable, the authorization code for access to the Park.
